A House of Simultanous Arrivals
We are in the final stages of setting up the second exhibition of simularr, titled A House of Simultaneous Arrivals, returning to the Domenig Steinhaus at Lake Ossiach, Carinthia. The opening will be on Saturday 23 August, 4 pm, the show runs until 21 September. The exhibition presents artistic works that explore the idea of spaces as woven from memories, encounters, shared thoughts and aesthetical interventions. Its aim is to envision a place that is not only a physical structure but that also embodies the simultaneity of arrivals of all those who participated, and the richness of shared experience. The exhibition was conceived, developed, and realised within the framework of simularr by an international group of artists-researchers.
Over several intensive working phases in Carinthia, San Cesario di Lecce (IT), and Styria, the participants examined how individual backgrounds, perceptions, and modes of expression can interlace and come into contact to form shared spaces of co-laboration. Using artistic, performative and architectural approaches, they investigated spaces that are not static but permeable and fluid, constantly reshaped by encounters, connections, activation and exchange. The exhibition invites visitors to reflect on spatial and temporal experiences as shared narratives. It presents installations, videos, drawings, sound works, and objects that open up different forms of coming together.
